We thank God for answered prayer and ask that he helps us to understand that all things do work together for good.

We are very grateful for two recent donations to our church.
Firstly for £500 received from Susan Roberts, the niece of Stella Jones, given in Stella’s memory.
Secondly, £200 from the Spar shop to be used for refurbishment work on our hall.

No – it’s not an advertisement for the Beatles film but an appeal for help for our Church Stewards.
There will be occasions when it won’t be possible to have two stewards on duty on a Sunday morning. It is on these occasions that they need one other person to help the steward who will be on duty.
The help needed is to be present in the vestry before the service and to assist in counting the collection after the service.
If a number of people volunteer it will mean that you won’t be called on very often.
Please let Elizabeth know if you are able to help.

Friday Lunches
Thank you to those who have offered to help with the Friday Lunches. We would like you to come to a meeting on Friday 4th March at 9 o’clock to share ideas and agree a rota to cover the lunches.
We hope others who want to know more about helping will come as well.

The Unique Authority
Luke 4:4
We are to believe and follow Christ in all things, including his words about Scripture. And this means that Scripture is to be for us what it was to him: the unique, authoritative, and inerrant Word of God, and not merely a human testimony to Christ, however carefully guided and preserved by God. If the Bible is less than this to us, we are not fully Christ’s disciples.
James Montgomery Boice, “The Preacher & God’s Word”

How to Promote Christian Unity
Rom 10:8-11
The fundamental doctrines of our evangelical belief are . . . the full inspiration and ruling authority of Holy Scripture, with its consequences, the Divinity of Christ, the finality of His Atonement, and salvation through faith alone. These basic truths should be studied as set forth in the New Testament, that they may be asserted or defended whenever occasion requires. If this be done in a humble and Christian spirit, we shall in the long run be promoting the cause of Christian unity, which must ultimately find its basis in the truth which God has revealed.
G. T. Manley, Christian Unity [1945]
